The characteristics of the INA bearings

Generally, the INA bearing steel is mainly high carbon chromium bearing steel. That is a hypereutectoid steel that contains about  1% carbon, 1.5% chromium and a small amount of manganese, silicon. Chromium not only improve the heat property ,hardenability, homogeneity, tempering stability but also increase the antirust and grinding performance of steel. However, when the chromium content exceeds 1.65%, the residual austenite in the steel will increase ,and lower the hardness and decrease the dimensional stability, and increase the heterogeneity of  carbide, and reduce the impact toughness and fatiue intensity after quenching. As a result, the chromium content in the high-carbon chromium bearing steel is genenrally controlled at 1.65%. Only the chemical composition of the INA bearings steel is controlled strictly, can be access to microstructure and hardness of the bearing by by heat treatment processes.
